Our story

The original DEX company

Back Before digital employee experience (DEX) was a thing, Sumir Karayi founded 1E in 1997 to help companies grow by making digital experiences better for everyone. We gained a reputation for our engineering expertise and as innovators in PC Power Management and Green IT. We launched the 1E Platform in 2017 to revolutionize endpoint management with automation. In 2021 we became part of the Carlyle Group, a global investment firm. Now we’re better equipped than ever to lead and shape the DEX category with our bold vision, industry-shaking product innovation, and outstanding team.
